In her first solo exhibition, Roaming Birds, at ArtTalks Gallery in Cairo, Egypt, Nadeen tackles the realm of birds. Birds have inspired humans throughout history with their ability to rise above the Earth and transcend earthly concerns simply by being. The fragile and almost magical nature of birds stirs our souls, motivating us to gain new perspectives on trivial matters. In the midst of turbulence and chaos, the symbol of the bird is comforting. A reminder that there is beauty even in disorder.

Roaming Birds is also inspired by the quiet moments found in the chaos of Cairo. Nadeen captured moments with her camera that she then translated into paintings the way she imagined them to be in her head. She has taken many portraits of strangers on the Nile, and in hidden corners around Cairo. Nadeen has always loved to read, and so another source of inspiration for this collection are the writings and poems of the late Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Rūmī, more famously known simply as, Rumi, the infamous 13th-century Persian poet. What Nadeen took from his writings were the serene emotions she felt after reading each poem. And that Is what is translated into her paintings in this collection.
